Part III: Do It Differently
We recognize that our readers are all over the world so to find a date night guide of the best restaurants is a little tricky – especially since Babbo fills up as soon as the month timeline is “available.” So here are some suggestions for cooking up your own feast right in the comfort of your cozy abode!
1) The Appetizer: Tuna, Tomato, and Basil Tartare
2) The Main Dish: For vegetarians, pescetarians, or carnivores, it doesn’t matter – this dish is an instant hit and you can make it with your eyes closed. All you need is arugula, cherry tomatoes, spaghetti, mozzarella, and a quality tomato/marinara sauce (I recommend Mario Batali or Rao’s). Boil water, salt it, and put in your spaghetti until al dente (depending on thickness and type, 6-9 minutes). Strain your spaghetti, put it back into the pot with arugula (I love up to three huge handfuls), put in a pint of cherry tomatoes that have been washed and halved, slice up your high quality mozzarella, and then add tomato sauce. Et voila! You’ve got a delish main dish!
